Backup your Macbook before the summer hand in.
Your Macbook will be erased and re-imaged over the summer months. In an effort to save drive space your district network drive will be purged and erased as well. What this means for students is.....you must backup any files on your own you would like to carry over to the new school year. You can do this using a USB drive, External Hard-drive, CD/DVD. Please be sure to stop by the iHelp room BEFORE you hand your laptop in if you need assistance backing up your files. Please see the following attached pdf for instructions on backing up.
Battery Conservation Tips:
When you take your laptop home over night or the weekend, be sure it is fully recharged for the next
school day.
The amount of work time your battery can provide before you need to recharge depends on the applications and peripheral devices you’re currently using, and the steps you take to conserve power while you work. For the best conservation of battery power, do the following:
Disconnect any peripherals when they are not in use.
Quit open applications that you are not using.
Remove CD and DVD discs when they are not in use.
Reduce screen brightness when using battery power. DIM YOUR SCREEN (F1-F2)
Put your laptop to sleep whenever you can.
A continually changing desktop background will use more battery power.
Connect to a Wireless or Wired Network Outside of School You must have the permission of the network owner before you connect to any network Never Connect to a network that you don't have persmission to join, even if that network is an open network.

Choose the printer from the Printer pop-up menu.
If you don’t find your printer, choose Add Printer from the Printer pop-up menu,if your printer doesn't show as a USB printer, then click More Printers in the toolbar. Choose your printer’s type from the pop-up menu, select the printer, and then click Add.
When you select your printer, Mac OS X finds the printer’s driver and adds the printer to the Printer pop-up menu. If Mac OS X can’t find the printer driver, “Driver not Installed” or “Gutenprint” appears in the model pop-up menu.
If you have trouble connecting to your USB printer please stop by the iHelp room, we may have to install your print driver for you. (Make sure you know your Make and model printer.)
